in the june 24, 2002 issue of EWEEK the editorial
on page 39 said currently there are
 
195,000 foreigners working here under H1-B visas
(i beleive that is the visa computer programmers get
to come her usually from india).
 
and that 
 
the IT work force (ie: computer programmers) in 
the United States shrank by 528,000 positions in 
2001 according to a urvey by the Information 
Technology Association of America.
